What is New and Living Way ?
The Name of the ministry is based on the verse found in Hebrews 10:20 and a subsequent revelation of our identity in Christ. New and Living Way is a mission organization that exists to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by training, equipping and providing tools for frontline church planters for the Unreached region. Our primary vision is to provide training and resources for two thousand pastors and church leaders every year in India and surrounding nations. We believe that equipped and trained church planters will plant vibrant and powerful churches that will strive to fulfill the Great Commission. In addition to equipping church planters, New and Living Way is also providing complete care and education to destitute children in a home based environment in the context of a church plant with the view of training them to become future church planters.
What is New and Living Way 's Statement of Faith?
We believe …
in the Bible to be inspired and the only infallible and authoritative Word of God (2 Tim.3: 16; 1 Cor. 2:13).
that there is only one God, eternally existent in the three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).
that all people are created in the image of God and are equal in His eyes. Although all human beings have wonderful potential for good, they are influenced by sin. Sin separates people from God and there is no human solution for reconciliation (Rom. 5:12, 18).
in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death and resurrection, in His ascension, and in His return (Lk.1: 26-35; Jn.1: 18; Is. 7:14; 9:6; Rom. 4:25; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Jn. 14: 2, 3; 1 Thess. 4:13-18).
that redemption from guilt and sin is only through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. Only through appropriating God's offer of forgiveness through Christ can people be saved from sin's penalty (Eph.2: 8, 9; Heb. 9:12, 22; Rom. 5:11). Those who believe in Jesus Christ receive eternal life (Jn. 5:24; 3:16) while those who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ will receive eternal punishment (Mk. 9:43-48; 2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 20: 10-15).
in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
that in obedience to Christ's command, every believer must be baptized in water by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6).
in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a unique experience available to all believers. This may occur at the time of salvation or afterwards. This will result in the receiving of spirit gifts for the purpose of personal growth, edification of the saints and the building of His Kingdom (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Gal. 3:14,15; 1 Cor. 14:1-4, 15; Jude 20).
in the divine healing of the body as experienced in the early Church (Acts 4:30; Rom. 8:11; 1 Cor. 12:9; Jam. 5:14).
in the one true universal church made up of genuine believers and comprising many churches in various localities each expressing its uniqueness under the headship of Jesus Christ. We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ. Each local congregation exists for the purpose of worship, prayer, teaching, encouraging, mutual accountability and community with each other. The Church must work towards the fulfillment of the Great Commission – reaching the lost with the light of the Gospel and restore them as disciples of Christ and release them to bring others into the Light (Acts 15:22; Matt. 16:18; 18:15-20).
How New and Living Way came into existence?
New and Living Way was conceived in the heart of Pastor James Chacko who was then serving as the Principal of a leading Theological Seminary in South India . It was in the year 1999; James got first exposed to the challenges and needs of North India when he was invited to speak at a convention in the city of Pathankot , border to Pakistan . His heart was torn to see the massive unreached regions of North India and the need for trained and equipped church planters to go and plant new frontline churches. This dream kept prompting his heart till April 28, 2004 when he was released by God to begin what is today known as New and Living Way .
Why are you based in North India?
Traditionally church growth took place in South India (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh) and North-eastern States (Nagaland, Manipur) of the country with nearly 99% Indian Christians in these regions. Rest of the states were neglected by early missionary ventures due to several factors. The North, North West region popularly known as the “Hindi belt” has the largest concentration of the unreached people groups (2084 ethne). Of the total North Indian population of about 500 million, only 0.14% claims to be Christians (rest of India is nearly 4.5%). With Himalayan Mountains located west, claiming the birth place of millions of Hindu deities, North India is also the birth place of Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism, along with many New Age gurus. It has the world's largest concentration of unreached people groups. Consider the figures put out by Joshua project: India – 2084, Pakistan – 471, China – 404, Nepal – 377, Bangladesh – 344 = Top five unreaached countries in the world. As such, New and Living in the developing world is strategically placed to impact thousands in India and surrounding nations.
Is New and Living Way affiliated with a specific church or denomination?
New and Living Way is not directly affiliated with any specific church or denominations. We have strategic partners from few churches, ministries and denominations. We welcome partnership from any church that has a vision for training frontline church planters and caring for the orphan children and aligns with our Statement of Faith.
What makes New and Living Way Unique?
New and Living Way is strategically placed in the heart of the world's single largest unreached region. Our Founder and his colleagues have over 20 years of ministry experience in the region at the grass root level of training and releasing apostolic and pastoral leaders across the nation and abroad. We have the local know-how's to make it happen. We are nationals equipping nationals in a culturally relevant and biblically balanced way within the local context. We are not denominationally bound nor are we here to build a monument. We are definitely committed to leaving a legacy for the advance of the Gospel among the unreached.
Who are “ Frontline Church Planters”?
Frontline Church Planters are on the cutting edge of what God is doing among the unreached. They sacrifice personal comfort and suffer much persecution to advance the Gospel among the world's hardest regions yet to be penetrated by the Gospel. They are nationals who respond to the call of reaching the unreached and plant churches that will strive to fulfill the Great Commission.
What is a Church Planters Conference?
New and Living Way often in partnership with other like minded ministries or alone conducts in strategic locations Church Planters Conference training well over 2000 church planters a year. At these conferences, church planters are taught on discipleship, personal growth, evangelism, church planting, church growth and relevant subjects. We also provide tools and resources in their native languages to facilitate training for life and witness.
Why you do what you do?
During the past twenty years, a fresh spiritual movement has birthed thousands of independent churches in South Asia . Most of these churches are the result of thousands of men and women across the region who has responded to the call of God to obey the Great Commission. But a great majority of them attempt to do so without any formal Bible training or any form of equipping. A large majority of these folks have come from regions where there is no established churches to provide basic discipleship training. Subsequently, these church planters are not equipped to mobilize the laity into discipleship process. These pastors are often left to handle persecution, personal crises and other issues by themselves. Pastors have no place to receive instruction, guidance and accountability. Lack of knowledge in God's Word has resulted in some leaders being tossed around by every kind of false doctrines. Often these pastors do not have the financial ability or the freedom to leave the existing ministry and go for full-time, long term Bible college training. There is also the emerging need to disciple the believers. Finally, within the 10/40 window there is only one worker for every 450,000 people. Less than 10% of the Christian missionary force works on the unevangelized frontiers of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and native tribal religions. Faced with these immense needs, which could also be taken as unprecedented opportunities, we at New and Living Way seek to make an impact by equipping church planters and caring for the poor.
How does NLW Conference differ from other pastors' conferences?
We use teachers from around the globe that are well experienced practitioners of fulfilling the Great Commission and planting of new churches. Majority of our conferences are taught by national resource personnel that is fully aware of the needs and challenges of mission in the region and better relate to the pastors. Our conferences are specially focused on the final goal of fulfilling the Great Commission and majority of the teaching are focused around this in mind. At the end of the conference, these pastors will be fully prepared to venture into pioneering a new church among the unreached.
Why New and Living Way do not directly plant churches and claim its ownership to become a fellowship or denomination?
Our primary calling is based on 2 Timothy 2:2; as such we do not wish to limit our sphere of influence to a small group of churches, groups or denomination. We want to impact the wider body of Christ to fulfill the Great Commission in our generation. We also believe that churches in the developing nations have become victims of missionary dependency. In order to relieve the leadership from the bondage of dependency, we must strive to equip, empower and release nationals to the full potential of becoming successful fishers of men rather than provide the fish.
Why Children's Home for the Orphan?
New and Living Way has heard the Father's heart beat for the millions of needy children in the nation of India . We have heard the Father calling these children into loving and caring homes to be trained in the ways of God to become next generation church planters. We have come to learn that these homes facilitate the planting of local churches as they are run by the pastor and his family in the context of a new church plant. It provides credibility and acceptance for the pastor in the village where he is ministering. Also, it helps bring protection from persecution and other harassments from antichristian elements since children belonging to the community have found a safe haven in the house of the pastor.
How is New and Living Way Children's Home differing from other orphanages?
Traditionally, we have seen the establishment of children's home as an institution, some connected with the local church and others having nothing to do with the church. God has given us new insight into better impacting children with the love of Jesus Christ. In the traditional style, children were taken away from their communities into a centre where hundreds or thousands of children are kept, looked after by employees. We have found that children in these homes grow up with negative attitudes and lack of proper personal care and Biblical upbringing. These children often suffer from isolation, institutionalized treatment, and lack of role model. Thus, we believe the most cost effective and impacting way to run children's home to advance the cause of Christ is in the context of a church plant in the home of the church planter.
What are the benefits of Home based Children's Home?
- Personal care and role model of Godly parents in the setting of a home.
- With maximum number of children in one home being 10, there is personal attention and care.
- They are sent to the local public school, whereby they feel equal with other children in the mainstream society.
- No financial investment needed to set-up schools to provide education to the children as they are sent to local community school.
- The pastor's wife has a unique ministry opportunity to the children and the church planters gain credibility and acceptance in the local community thus avoiding possibilities of persecution and other opposition to ministry.
- The children grow up in an environment of prayer, worship and bible study since they live in the house of a pastor. Children growing up in such environment will definitely have an uncompromising commitment and passion for the cause of the Kingdom. This is reflected when we ask these children “who they want to become?” They respond by saying, “I want to become a pastor!”
- The church planters accommodation, food and basic needs will be covered partially along with the budget of the children's home – thus helping the cause of a pioneering work in an unreached community where there is minimum support locally for the church planting project.

What are the strategies of the Children's Home?
Children are brought to the home from in and around the neighborhood of the church plant through village head or leaders who need such care. Often these children are orphans or semi orphans. There are also cases where the parent/s are seriously ill and cannot afford the upbringing of their children. We provide complete care – education, food, medicine and spiritual upbringing under the direct involvement and care of the church planter. Our vision is to train these boys and girls in a way that they will hear and receive the call to become full time ministers of the Gospel. Those that respond to the call of God will be sent to Bible schools and others provided with basic technical skills to find good jobs whereby they are able to bless their families and in return bless the ministry.
